Excitement is in the air…

Our parents are joining us as contributors in the Alpha Blog!

Parents,

Would you please tell us who you are and a little bit about yourself?

Thanks!

PS – The kids and I are all very thankful for your support and encouragement. With you on our sides, there is no limit to what we can achieve!

  1. I have 3 wonderful girls that go to Mckeel Elem. I have a wonderful husband. I have my teaching degree, but decided to take a leave when I had my girls. I am now a substitute at Mckeel. I enjoy running and going to the gym.

  2. Hi, I’m Mrs. Riffel. Most of you know my daughter, Brooke, a 5th grader at MEA. Most of you also know my other daughter, Lindsey, even though she is only 3 and not old enough to go to MEA. Some of you even know me, or at least you have seen me around the school, because I am at the school, a LOT! My favorite thing to do is volunteer at MEA and I enjoy talking to each of you when I see you in the hallways. I very much enjoyed the story that was posted. Jessie reminds me of myself when I was a little girl. But my parents always encouraged me and only asked that I always try my best, not that I HAD to be the best. And now that I am a parent of two wonderful daughters, I know how important it is to try new things, even if you don’t feel like you will be the best at it. I look forward to reading your blogs and maybe even posting a blog or two of my own!

  3. Hello. This is Belle’s mother, Mrs. Smith. Ok, I have to be honest, I HATE being called that. My name is Maria but everyone calls me Ria. My family started calling me that years ago and I haven’t been able to shake it. I feel so much older than I am when people stick that “Mrs.” in front of my name. Belle is my 1st child who is in 4th grade. She has been at MEA since kindergarten. She has two brothers, Matty and Bradley. Matt is 3 and our little surprise Bradley is 1. We have two dogs (Weimeraners) and a cat (A Manx) as well. We do not own any animals with tails! We love spending time together and love going camping. Our motto is, “A family who plays together stays together.” My sister, Dee Fields, works at Big McKeel along with her husband, Scott Fields. My sister in law, Monica DeSilvestro, works in the library at Big McKeel as well.I am excited about meeting all of the Alpha kids/parents and seeing what you guys come up with this year to AWE me! I may not be your parent but I am very proud of all of you and proud to be a wildcat parent! GO MCKEEL!!!!

  4. Hi – I am Ms. Blair’s mom. I’m happy she asked me to be part of the MEA Alpha Blog. I have three children, Ms. Blair and her two brothers, who were in an Alpha program and a granddaughter, Laney, who was in the Alpha program MEA. I have really enjoyed their Alpha activities and now I am looking forward to sharing in your fun.

  5. Just wanted to take a second to tell all of the parents (and kids) how nice it was to meet all of you today at the Alpha Swim party. Can’t wait for the next get together. We all have AWESOME kids!!! I think we can all agree on the same thing that Ms. Blair ROCKS!!! Thanks for all you do.
